Cookie Gift Baskets Offer Sweet Treats For Someone Special

Cookie Gift Baskets Offer Sweet Treats For Someone Special

If you are looking for a unique gift for that special someone, a cookie gift basket may be just the thing if the recipient enjoys sweet and delicious treats. Cookie gift baskets are created by a number of businesses and gift shops that you can either find in the yellow pages, on the Internet, or possibly through one of your friends.

Cookie gift baskets make an excellent choice as get well or sympathy gifts, a sweet thank you, or a congratulations offering for a new baby or for a newlywed couple. One of the main advantages of giving a cookie gift basket is that you can select your present from the comfort of your home office, and have it promptly delivered directly to the recipient of your choice. All you need is access to the Internet or a brochure from a gift shop. This makes cookie gift baskets an excellent option for friends and family that live out of town as well as a convenient choice for those who live nearby.

Cookie gift baskets are often referred to as "cookie bouquets" because many include an assortment of cookies on sticks that are arranged similarly to a bouquet of flowers. The cookies are often as large as an adult hand and can come in a variety of shapes and types. Most gift shops that sell cookie gift baskets will guarantee delivery the day that the basket is made, and the cookies are generally best if eaten within a week of delivery. For longer enjoyment, many of the cookies can be frozen. You can choose from a variety of shapes and themes, from baby bottles and rattles to stars and hearts for more generic options. Whatever the occasion or event, you are nearly guaranteed to find a cookie gift basket that will fit your specific needs.

Finding the Perfect Basket for every Occasion

Do you know of someone who has just moved into a new house? There are cookie gift baskets with a "Welcome" theme for housewarming gifts. Does your favorite team need a pick-me-up before the next big game? There are "good luck" baskets to choose from that will include the sport and team colors of your choice. Some gift shops can even create the cookies in the shape of the team's logo. You can celebrate anniversaries, birthdays, retirement or new additions to the family with these sweet treats. Cookie gift baskets also make a unique thank you for someone who has recently brightened your day in some way. The gamut of themes and styles in cookie gift baskets is quite extensive, so you are nearly guaranteed to find an arrangement for nearly everyone on your gift shopping list.

Everything You Should Know About Candy Jars

Everything You Should Know About Candy Jars

Candy jars or cookie jars are functional and ornamental glass jars made from ceramic or glass and often a staple in any typical American home, and also, all across the world. In England, they are referred to as biscuit tins or jars. The type of jars is used to store various kinds of candy and other sweet treats. Sometimes, they are even used to store currency as in coins, like a piggy-bank.

Candy jars have been utilized in Britain since concluding part of the 18th century. These jars, or biscuit tins, were primarily fashioned from glass with accompanying metal lids. Glass jars became fashionable in the Unites States around 1929, known as the Great Depression Era, and many were typically made of glass with metal covers. Stoneware emerged as the more trendy choice for jars beginning from the 1930s, and many early editions have plain tube-like shape and in most cases, adorned with floral or leaf motifs or embellished with markers which are distinctive.

The first ceramic candy glass jar was first manufactured by the Brush Pottery Company in Ohio. This eponymous candy glass jar was green in color and had the word 'cookies' emblazoned on the exterior. After the introduction of the famous Brush jar, other manufacturers, recognizing the business potential, began copying the idea, and came up with their own versions of candy glass jars designed with motifs like vegetables, fruit, figures and animals. Some candy glass jars also had capricious designs such as Little Red Riding Hood. A few candy glass jar manufacturers rose to celebrity status with the culmination of the Golden Era of candy jar production between the 40s through the 70s.

For candy glass jar collectors, McCoy candy glass jars which were made in Roseville, Ohio became highly-sought after items. McCoy manufactured candy glass jars circa 1939 until they ceased production in 1987. The Company's debut jar, dubbed 'mammy' is considered one of the most priceless jars around. If one is found intact, it can be sold for thousands upon thousand of dollars. McCoy was also known to churn out fruit and vegetable jars, all though without a doubt, it is their candy jars which caused such a sensation.

Another highly-respected candy jar maker is the American Bisque from Williamstown in West Virginia. Their distinctive candy jars (which are also priceless collectibles), are embellished with many famous cartoon personalities.

Red Wing of Minnesota, Metlox Pottery from California, Shawnee Pottery from Ohio and Abingdon Pottery from Illinois are also very famous candy jar makers.

The late artist Andy Warhol loved jars so much, that he had a personal collection (mostly procured from flea markets at bargain prices) of about 175 ceramic jars. Perhaps it was this act that greatly influenced America, and not long after, started the candy jar collecting craze. Mr. Warhol's 'little' hobby received widespread coverage in the media, as his collection comprised rare candy jars from the 1930s and 40s. His collection fetched an amazing amount of 250, 000 when they were auctioned in 1987.

DiscountMugs.com is a large distribution company based in Miami, Florida. They are web-based and factory-direct which allows them to keep prices lower than the rest of the competition. They also have a huge selection of glassware from beer mugs and champagne flutes to shot glasses and candy jars.

Crumbling Like a Cookie When “closing” the Deal?

Crumbling Like a Cookie When "closing" the Deal?

Hey there cookie.

Recently I sent out a survey to my Divalicious subscribers asking them what their SINGLE biggest challenge was in selling.

And whoaaaaaaaa - I received HUNDREDS of answers from all over the world.

One of the biggest challenges that came up again and again?

Closing.

Are You Crumbling Like A Cookie When "Closing" The Deal?

Hey - I've been there!

Years ago, when I first got into sales, I thought..." Hey - I'm a nice person, I have a great product/service and I offer amazing customer service. People will buy from me like crazy." (have you ever had the same thought?)

Wellllll...selling doesn't work like that (which you may have already discovered)

I discovered it too. (I think that's when I had the habit of crying in my car every day from all the REJECTION!)

The Word CLOSING Is Stale And Dry!

First of all - the word CLOSING is a left-over word from the Old Boys Club. Closing meant heavy pressure on your client, lots of phone calls and tons of volume.

The client was treated like a number and quite frankly - no one likes to be treated like that.

However, somewhere down the line you've been taught the word CLOSING with all of its nasty, "Herb Tarleck, Donald Trump" images. (If you don't know who Herb Tarleck is then I just dated myself!)

Think Of Closing As Opening The Lid To The Cookie Jar

Look.

Wondering WHEN the client will buy from you? It all starts with changing your thinking from CLOSING to OPENING.

Opening a relationship with a potential customer.

Four Calorie-Free Rules To Follow:

1. Clients Don't Come Out Of The Oven Immediately. So you think after 1 meeting, 1 phone call, 1 e-mail that they should be pounding down the door? Wrong. On average it takes 5 -9 contacts before someone buys. I bet you're dropping out of sight between 1-2. (PLUS- has the customer expressed permission for you to contact them?)

2. If You Don't ASK For A Cookie - You Won't Get One. "Closing" means ASKING. If you don't ask for the business, or give too much away at the beginning - then WHY SHOULD THEY BUY from you? Right now there are people who WOULD BUY FROM YOU if only you asked them!

3. Know When And What They Want From The Bakery. Do you know your client's needs and wants? Do you know if they are even a good fit for you? Do you know if they have a sense of urgency for purchasing your product or service?

4. Don't Cry Over Spilled Milk. So the client said NO? That's OK. Why did they say NO? And also remember - a NO doesn't mean forever - it means just for now. Don't chase your client and think they will say YES as they won't. However, don't fall off the radar either. They aren't rejecting YOU - they just aren't convinced you're the best choice. Believe me - its different!

Remember Lady - Being In Sales Is About Asking For The Dough!

Here's what I believe. If you are offering something a client finds valuable then you deserve to be paid for it.

That's it.

You cannot be successful in sales, or be successful in business if you act like the Pillsbury Dough Boy and hide behind insecurity and giggle a lot.

It doesn't show me that you're confident in your product or service. It doesn't show me that you're the best choice.

It just shows me that you're a COOKIE CUTTER COPY of everyone else. And I KNOW you're NOT.

Do you?

CALIFORNIA GOLF BALL COOKIES

2 cups creamy peanut butter
2 cups crispy riced cereal
6-oz chocolate chips
1/2 bar paraffin
2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup soft butter
6-oz butterscotch chips

In a mixing bowl, mix together the peanut butter, cereal, powdered sugar, and soft butter. Shape mixture into balls. In a heavy saucepan, melt the paraffin, chocolate chips, and butterscotch chips. Dip the balls into the warm paraffin sauce and place on a cookie sheet covered with waxed paper. Refrigerate to set.

ANGEL CRISP COOKIES

1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup shortening
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cream of tartar
water for dipping
sugar for dipping

In a medium size mixing bowl, cream together the sugars, shortening, egg, and vanilla. Sift the dry ingredients together and add to the creamed mixture. Mix well. Form into walnut-sized balls. Dip top half of each ball into water then into sugar. Place on greased baking sheet and press down in the center with your finger. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 to 20 minutes or until lightly browned and crispy.

Enjoy!

Lg Cookie Fresh: Fun, Fresh And Fully Loaded

Lg Cookie Fresh: Fun, Fresh And Fully Loaded

Soon to be a feature in the UK market is the new LG Cookie Fresh. The new cookie presents a handsome face with rounded corners that makes them pleasant to hold and comes in fun colors of pink, purple, blue, light blue, silver and light green, aside from the standard black. You can choose from this fairly large range of colors to suit your personality and temperament.

This cookie is surely not destined to rot in the cookie jar. Its predecessor, the original Cookie from LG, sold millions around the world and it is expected that its newer counterpart, with even fresh and updated features will follow in the footsteps of its big brother when it hits the store.

Fully Loaded

This mobile phone runs on the 2G network with Bluetooth capability. Its TFT resistive touch screen pretty much dominates the entire front face of the phone. The screen measures 3.2 inches and displays 240 x 400 pixels images. As with any touch screen phone, it is expected to have an expensive price tag. But the opposite is the surprise that comes with the Cookie. It is set to retail at less than a hundred pounds when released in the 2nd half of April this year.

No wonder this newest phone from LG is creating such a buzz in the mobile gadgets market. It is pretty "advanced" and fully loaded for a moderately – priced phone and it looks good too.

Fun

Among the outstanding and updated feature is the social networking capability. Today, no phone would be complete without social networking applications as social networks leap from the desk tops to the mobile phone home screens. The Cookie has client support specifically for Twitter and Facebook, today's most popular social networking sites.

This gives you the ability to stay on top of the updates on your network even while you are on the go. You never have to miss a mail, a message or simply a status update with the new LG Cookie Fresh.

Fresh

Another Fresh feature is the music –friendly support. It has a digital media player that allows you to play MP3 tunes and/or playback video captured by the 2 mega pixel camera. The camera is found at the back of the phone. It also has an FM radio that will enable you to tune to your favorite music stations to satisfy your audio trip. Missing form the original cookie but now is in the Cookie Fresh is the 3.5 mm audio jack that allows you to use headphones when playing music.

Storage wise, this mobile phone is capable of storing more than a thousand phone book entries and up to 400 call logs. You can also expand the limited memory via the micro SD memory card slot that is capable of supporting up to 16 GB of storage space. This should pose no problem for photo and video files, as well as audio files stored in your phone.

Visit http://www.best-mobile-contracts.co.uk to find out more about the LG Cookie Fresh and other new mobile phones. They have many reviews and compare deals for the LG GS290 Cookie Fresh. You can also find more information on many more LG phones.
